Deutsche Messe by Franz Schubert is a choral work of timeless beauty. Its nine parts are based on German poems. The composition has a very special character, and it differs from many other pieces of western church music. In 2027, 200 years will have passed since Deutsche Messe was published.
The concert is conducted by Andres Mustonen, the founder of the legendary early music ensemble Hortus Musicus.
